Effects of ambient CO2 and H2O on soot processes in n-dodecane spray combustion using large eddy simulation

In this study, large eddy simulations, coupled a two-equation soot model, are performed to investigate the effects of ambient carbon dioxide (CO2) and water (H2O) additions on formation oxidation processes in an n-dodecane spray flame. acetylene (C2H2) is precursor surface growth species, while hydroxyl radical (OH) oxygen (O2) oxidizers. The effect CO2 H2O formation/oxidation can be separated into thermal chemical effects. For effects, increase C2H2 but reduce OH by lowering flame temperature. This leads higher mass formed. On contrary due their reaction CH2?+CO2?CH2O+CO found responsible for reducing formation. addition results lower formed owing reverse reactions H2+OH?H2O+H OH+OH?H2O+O. Furthermore, more significant than under tested conditions. when adding H2O.
